Eso si, se recomienda entre otras cosas, adquirir un seguro de vida tipo todo riesgo, llevar puesto "algo" que sirve para matar patos y hace pum-pum, amen del testamento debidamente diligenciado.

Ahora en serio, comunicado del 24-jun-2010 22:03 UTC transmitido en 8415 Khz USB modo SITOR-B a las naves de bandera norteamericana en transito obligado por el golfo de guinea, en donde advierte de presencia de grupos (piratas y/o ladrones) armados con armas automaticas y cuchillos, que abordan sin autorizacion, cobran rescate por el navio y tripulacion, roban y saquean carga y equipos, por ultimo el mensaje explicitamente deja en libertad para tomar medidas necesarias de acuerdo al plan de seguridad de cada quien.

4. ARMED GROUPS THAT OPERATE IN THE REGION
HAVE CARRIED OUT ATTACKS ON VESSELS WITH
AUTOMATIC WEAPONS. ATTACKERS HAVE TAKEN
THE MASTER AND OTHER CREWMEMBERS OFF THE
VESSEL AND DEMANDED A RANSOM IN EXCHANGE
FOR THEIR SAFE RETURN. VESSELS OPERATING
IN CLOSE PROXIMITY OF THE OIL PLATFORMS
IN NIGERIAN WATERS STAND GREATER RISK
FROM ARMED ATTACKS.

5. ROBBERS ARMED WITH KNIVES HAVE BOARDED

CREW AND SHIP EQUIPMENT. MOST EVENTS OCCUR
CLOSE TO SHORE OR AT ANCHORAGES. ARMED
